WMAS Resource Escalation Action Plan (REAP) Level:
LEVEL 2
What is REAP?
Resource Escalation Action Plan
All ambulance services across the UK work to a national framework, called REAP, which has four levels designed to maintain an effective and safe operational and clinical response for patients.

The higher the level, the more intense the pressure.

The level is determined by set, pre-determined metrics across various aspects of service performance - the level is not determined by officers (CEO must approve Level 4).

Ultimately, REAP is designed to protect service delivery.
REAP Aims
-
Determine what actions are required to protect core services
-
Provide the most proportional and safe level of services with the resources available
-
Provide uniformity of pressure understanding across the wider region and nationally
-
Respond to any action or potential disruptive challenges affecting service delivery
-
Inform internally
-
Inform the wider NHS and other partner agencies of the pressures facing the organisation
-
Provide consistency in triggers and associated actions to
